Hi, When people think about depression in general, it’s usually in reference to unipolar depression. This is what the most common depression diagnosis is actually referring to. For some reason, people hear the term Bipolar and don’t realize that it’s actually Bipolar Depression, just another form of depression. There are definitely differences between the two, as their names suggest. It’s important to understand and recognize those differences whether you’re gaining the education and awareness for yourself or for a loved one. The two illnesses can make people very similar in some ways and worlds apart in other ways and require different treatments to manage the symptoms. Although individuals with both disorders will experience periods of lows in their lives characterized by somber moods, lack of energy, inability to focus or care, et cetera, those with Bipolar Depression will also have periods of mania, or highs. These periods of mania often include euphoric feelings, like one can do anything, insomnia, and the exhibition of compulsive or risky behaviors. For More Details Animated Device Explainer Video
